Bend Fire & Rescue is launching a new data hub for community members to access data and maps about fire and medical incidents.

The data hub will provide more transparency and make it easier for community members to learn about the types of incidents that Bend Fire & Rescue responds to within the City of Bend and the surrounding area. Through a unique partnership with Deschutes Rural Fire Protection District #2, Bend Fire & Rescue also serves the residents outside the city limits.

The community can access information on the volume, type and location of incidents through a map and dashboard. Among the data available are historic incident volumes by year, fire incidents by cause, and apparatus utilization. The data is updated regularly, and information has been anonymized so that individual addresses are not identified.

“The dashboard allows full transparency with the community about the incidents and amount of calls Bend Fire & Rescue responds to on a daily basis,” said Chief Todd Riley. “The use of data allows us to continue to improve the way we respond to emergencies and help save lives.”

The data hub can be found at firedata.bendoregon.gov.
