Selena Gomez said “yes” when her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, popped the question — and she’s still walking on air.
On her Instagram Story Dec. 19, Selena posted video of a closeup of her hand, showing off her marquise cut diamond engagement ring. “Sorry, last post…,” she captioned the video. “I’ve just dreamed of this moment my whole life.” She also posted a mirror selfie in which her ring was prominently featured.
Selena captioned the Dec. 11 engagement announcement, “forever begins now.” Benny later posted behind-the-scenes footage of the site of the proposal. It took place on a sound stage dressed to look like a park, where they enjoyed a picnic with champagne. He soundtracked the post to Selena’s song “Good For You,” in which she sings, “I’m on my marquise diamonds/ I’m a marquise diamond.”
While Benny and Selena have known each other for nearly 20 years, they only began dating in July 2023.
Selena certainly has had a lot to celebrate lately: In addition to her engagement, she received two Golden Globe nominations, including one for her role in the Spanish-language musical Emilia Pérez.
Her co-star Zoe Saldaña told Variety that if songs from the film are nominated for an Oscar — two are on the short list — she’d love for her and Selena to perform them on the Oscars telecast.
