As if we didn’t already know it, Chappell Roan has won an award given out annually to artists identified as “music’s biggest rising stars.”

Chappell has been honored with BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2025, and she was awarded the title by a panel of more than 180 musicians and experts, including Dua Lipa, Elton John and Sam Smith. Her song “Good Luck, Babe!” reached #2 on the U.K. singles chart, while her album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess topped the album chart.

Chappell was #1 on a short list of five artists; Myles Smith of “Stargazing” fame is #4.

Past winners of the prize include Adele, Ellie Goulding and Smith.

Chappell currently has six Grammy nominations.
