Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are still alive on the Billboard Hot 100.
Their Grammy-nominated duet “Die With a Smile” is #1 for a second week on the tally. Billboard notes that this makes Gaga only the second artist ever to have two #1 hits featuring a male and a female solo artist singing together without anyone else. “Die With a Smile” is her second; “Shallow,” featuring Bradley Cooper, was her first.
The only other artist to achieve this? Ariana Grande, who topped the chart in 2020 with Justin Bieber with the song “Stuck With You,” and with The Weeknd in 2023 with “Die For You.” Coincidentally, Gaga and Ariana themselves scored a chart-topping duet: 2020’s “Rain On Me.”
But “Die With a Smile” isn’t the only song with “Smile” in its title in the top 10. Morgan Wallen‘s song “Smile,” which he released on New Year’s Eve, has jumped to #4.
Meanwhile, Bruno continues to double-dip in the top 10; his duet with K-pop star ROSÉ, “APT.,” holds at #5.
