While in Sydney, Australia for a show Monday, Benson Boone took part in the country’s famous tradition of “the shoey,” which involves drinking beer out of a fan’s sneaker. Benson flipped the script by drinking bottled water out of a female fan’s cowboy boot. As seen on TikTok, Benson gulped the water and announced, “Not bad, not bad. You have very good hygiene, miss, thank you.” Other artists who’ve done “the shoey” include Harry Styles and Post Malone.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are spending a third week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their Grammy-nominated duet “Die With a Smile.”

Noah Kahan and John Mayer are among the artists who’ll be paying tribute to the Grateful Dead at this year’s MusiCares Person of the Year charity gala, which always takes place the Friday before the Grammys.  The Jan. 31 event will also include performances by Maren Morris, Dave Matthews and Norah Jones. John is a member of the Grateful Dead offshoot band Dead & Company, who will also perform, and his pal and well-known Deadhead Andy Cohen will host.

Tate McRae has announced that the song she’s been teasing, “Sports Car,” will be out Jan. 24.
