Billie Eilish and Adam Lambert are among the notable queer artists receiving nominations for this year’s GLAAD Media Awards.
The annual awards, which will take place in LA on March 27, honor fair, accurate and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues in music, film, television, gaming, podcasting, journalism and more.
In the category of Outstanding Music Artist, Adam is nominated for his EP AFTERS, while Billie is up for her Grammy-nominated album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT. Other nominees include Tove Lo, Victoria Monét, Doechii and alternative country artist Orville Peck, who, coincidentally, is replacing Adam in the role of the emcee in the cast of Broadway’s Cabaret.
Music legend Elton John is also nominated in that category, for the soundtrack of his Disney+ documentary Never Too Late. “Sailor Song” artist Gigi Perez is nominated for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist.
The HBO film Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero is nominated in the category of Outstanding Documentary.
