The Grammys don’t just help artists who win — anyone who performs on the show tends to get a boost, as the latest streaming numbers from Luminate show.
As Billboard reports, Charli XCX didn’t win on-camera, but her underwear party performance of “Von dutch” and “Guess” led to a 130% increase in streams for the former song. Similarly, RAYE didn’t win at all, but her performance of “Oscar Winning Tears” resulted in a 54% bump in streams for the song.
As for those who won and didn’t perform, Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter album experienced a 595% increase in streams on the Monday after the Grammys, following its win for album of the year, while Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us” had a 74% increase in daily streams after it won record and song of the year.
But the real winners were those who both won and performed. Chappell Roan took home best new artist and performed “Pink Pony Club,” which resulted in a 109% increase in streams for that specific song. Her whole catalog increased by 50%.
Doechii‘s memorable medley performance of “Catfish” and “Denial Is a River,” which many singled out as among the best performances of the telecast, delivered respective bumps of 213% and 93%, while her win for best rap album led to a 182% increase of her entire catalog, according to Billboard.
