Bill Baker is a familiar voice to Central Oregon radio listeners and has been part of the Horizon Broadcasting Group news team since 2007. Bill delivers morning newscasts on 104.5 FM | 1340 AM News Radio KBNW (Monday – Friday 6 am – 12 pm). He was born and raised in Port Angeles, WA where he began his broadcasting career on May 18, 1980 – the day Mt. St. Helens erupted. Bill has worked as an announcer and producer at several radio stations in Washington state including Aberdeen, Mount Vernon, Bellingham and Seattle. He is an award-winning broadcast journalist and agricultural reporter – he has twice been honored by the Associated Press for Best Scheduled Newscast (at KPUG-AM Bellingham, WA and later at 104.5 FM | 1340 AM News Radio KBNW in Bend). Bill is recognized as one of America’s preeminent agricultural reporters, having served as General Manager/Host of Dairy Business Radio for 16 years and presently as General Manager/Host of Dairy Radio Now, a daily program syndicated to hundreds of radio stations across the United States.
